Couples Therapy

Build a stronger relationship, together.

Couples therapy offers a supportive, nonjudgmental space where both partners can feel heard, better understand one another, and begin working toward meaningful change. Whether you’re navigating communication difficulties, recurring conflict, a loss of connection, trust concerns, intimacy challenges, or a major life transition, therapy can help you understand the patterns affecting your relationship and develop healthier ways of moving forward together.

What to Expect

Couples therapy is available in person or through a secure video platform. While standard sessions are 50 minutes, 90-minute sessions are available and recommended for couples, allowing more time to explore concerns thoughtfully, work through difficult conversations, and practice new skills without feeling rushed.

Your first session focuses on getting to know you as a couple—your relationship history, current concerns, strengths, and what you each hope to gain from therapy. We’ll begin a collaborative assessment and identify the areas of your relationship that may need greater attention and support.

Your second session typically includes individual time with each partner. These conversations provide an opportunity to better understand each person’s background, relationship experiences, personal challenges, and perspective on the relationship. They also help create a more complete understanding of the experiences and patterns each partner brings into the relationship.

By your third session, we’ll bring these insights together to identify the patterns, strengths, and priorities that will guide our work. Together, we’ll develop clear and achievable goals for your relationship. From there, sessions become increasingly focused on creating meaningful change—strengthening communication, navigating conflict more effectively, rebuilding trust when needed, deepening emotional connection, and developing practical tools you can use outside of therapy.

Couples therapy is not about determining who is right or wrong or assigning blame. Instead, we’ll work to understand the cycle the two of you can become caught in, what may be happening beneath the conflict, and how each partner can contribute to creating a healthier and more connected relationship. Therapy provides space to slow down difficult interactions, communicate more openly, and practice new ways of responding to one another.

Your goals and progress will be revisited throughout the process so therapy can evolve alongside your relationship. As your needs change, we’ll adjust our focus to help you build greater understanding, connection, and confidence in navigating challenges together.
