Individual Therapy

Your Journey Back to You

Individual therapy provides a supportive, confidential space to better understand yourself, work through difficult experiences, and create meaningful change. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, intrusive thoughts, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, therapy is tailored to your unique experiences, strengths, needs, and goals.

What to Expect

Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes and are available in person or through a secure video platform. Your first few sessions are focused on getting to know you and developing a deeper understanding of what brings you to therapy. During your first session, we’ll review informed consent and confidentiality and begin a collaborative assessment exploring your current concerns, significant life experiences, relationships, strengths, coping strategies, and what you hope will be different as a result of therapy.

This assessment process typically continues throughout the first three sessions. Rather than rushing into solutions, this time allows us to understand not only the challenges you’re experiencing, but also the patterns, experiences, and circumstances that may be contributing to them. Together, we’ll identify what feels most important to address and determine a therapeutic approach that fits your individual needs.

By approximately the third session, we’ll develop a treatment plan with clear, meaningful goals using the S.M.A.R.T. framework—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. From there, therapy becomes increasingly focused on helping you move toward those goals.

Therapy is a collaborative process, and your treatment plan is not meant to be static. We’ll regularly revisit your goals, talk about what feels helpful, and make adjustments as your needs or circumstances change. Progress may be evaluated through ongoing conversations about your experience as well as standardized measures, rating scales, and screening tools when appropriate. These tools help us track changes over time while recognizing that meaningful progress can also show up in ways that are deeply personal and not always captured by a score.

Throughout the process, the goal is to create a consistent and supportive space where you can feel heard, challenged when helpful, and actively involved in your care. Therapy is not about following a one-size-fits-all path—it is about building greater insight, developing practical tools, and creating changes that feel meaningful and sustainable in your everyday life.
